The Selection Process of Tourisfair’s Panda Adoption

During the peak of the pandemic, we brainstormed on how we as a team can help make the world a better place despite being in lockdown, and along came the idea of virtually adopting an animal that counts as an endangered species.
Unfortunately, there are many species and really, we could have closed our eyes and pointed on the screen that was showing the long list of endangered animals.
Our community takes big part in the decision-making-processes of our start-up and voted for the Giant Panda to become our new family member.
We were planning on making the panda digitally come to life and actually become a Tourisfair team member, becoming the first point of contact for anyone interested in getting a tailored trip plan for their next vacation.
The website currently offers partnerships for 86 pandas in their care, and when I’m telling you, we wanted to adopt them all. Luckily, we can count on our community and decided to involve them in the selection process.
The Selection Process
We chose 16 random pandas, 8 females, 8 males. And posted the first four on March 2nd, 2022 on our social media channels. The community was able to place votes by choosing the like-icon of whichever panda they wanted to move into the quarter final.
The quest is currently ongoing and in its fourth round. After every round, we are giving our community 3 days time to place their votes and announce the winner of each round on the fourth day.
The final winner will be announced on March 31st, 2022. Another thing our community voted for, was the name of our future team member — Pandi.
We are very excited who it is going to be and appreciate each and everyone’s participation in helping us make this decision.
